Plum strudel

Sweet, sour and a slight kick from Stroh 80, ideal with tea.

Plums
80 g
breadcrumbs
40 g
Butter
80 g
Sugar
1 tsp
Cinnamon
3 tbsp
Sugar

For coating

30 g
Butter

Preparation:

40 min

Baking:

40 min at 180 °C Top/bottom heat

On the Plate:

1.5 h

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strudel dough and leave to rest.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  3. Wash the plums, remove the stones and cut into quarters lengthways.
  4. Fry the breadcrumbs in a pan over a medium heat with the butter.
  5. Mix the sugar, cinnamon and roasted breadcrumbs with the plums.
  6. Roll out the strudel dough on a lightly floured tea towel. Spread a little melted butter on top and add the filling. Now drizzle the straw 80 over the filling.
  7. Carefully roll up the strudel using the tea towel.
  8. Position the strudel on a baking tray with the seam facing downwards and brush with the remaining butter.
  9. Bake at 180°C top/bottom heat for approx. 40 minutes.
  10. Leave to cool for at least 20 minutes before eating.
  11. Optionally serve with vanilla sauce or simply sprinkle with icing sugar.
