Swedish pressed cucumber salad

Ingredients

Cucumber
1 tsp
Salt
129 mL
Water
4 tbsp
White wine vinegar
2 tbsp
Sugar
1 bunch
Dill, fresh

Instructions

  1. Cut the cucumber into thin slices using a vegetable slicer.
  2. Place the cucumbers in a sieve and season with salt. Weigh down the whole thing with a weight. (Hence the name). Leave to drain for approx. 30 minutes.
  3. Boil the water with the sugar and vinegar until the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Leave to cool and add the chopped dill.
  5. Remove the weight from the cucumbers and squeeze out more water by hand.
  6. Place the cucumbers in a bowl and mix well with the liquid.
  7. Store in the fridge for at least 3 hours.
