Quince and apple compote
A nice compote that gains a special flavour from its star anise.

- Peel the quinces and core them generously. Cut into small ~1-2 cm pieces and place in a pan. Cover with water and a splash of lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Optionally, peel the apples and add them in large pieces.
- Bring to the boil with the star anise, cinnamon and lemon zest and simmer for approx. 30 minutes.
- Pour into boiled jars or eat warm. Good as a dessert over the winter.
