Quick to make and irresistible. A Gempen classic

Adjust Amount:

Ingredients

3
Eggs
250 g
Sugar
2 tbsp
Cocoa powder
2 tsp
Vanilla sugar
300 g
White flour, wheat
1 Pkg
Baking powder
300 mL
Milk
250 g
Butter, liquid & cooled

Glaze

200 g
Icing sugar
2 tbsp
Cocoa powder
2 tsp
Vanilla sugar
4-5 tbsp
Espresso, cold

Baking:

15 min at 180 °C fan on

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy.
  2. Stir in the cocoa powder and vanilla sugar.
  3. Mix the flour and baking powder with the milk and butter and stir in these two ingredients alternately.
  4. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper measuring approx. 30 x 40 cm.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes at 180 °C fan on in the oven.
  6. Leave to cool on a wire rack. Then turn out.

Glaze

  1. Mix the ingredients for the icing, sift in the icing sugar and pour over the turned out cake.
  2. Decorate as desired, e.g. with coconut flakes and sugar sprinkles.
