Digestive Biscuits

Good for cake bases or to tea or coffee

Portions:

~ 50 biscuits (300 g)

Adjust Amount:

Ingredients

240 g
Wholemeal flour, wheat
85 g
icing sugar
1 tsp
Baking powder
2 g
Salt
60 g
Milk
115 g
Butter, cold

Baking:

20 min at 165 °C Top/bottom heat

Instructions

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Add the milk and stir it in.
  3. Cut the butter into small cubes and rub it into the flour. Work into a smooth dough.
  4. Flatten the dough slightly, wrap it in cling film and leave it in the fridge for 30 minutes to firm up a little.
  5. Preheat the oven to 165 degrees (top and bottom heat).
  6. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 3 mm. Cut out shapes using your chosen cutter and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. If desired, prick the biscuits with a fork or similar to prevent them from rising too much.
  7. Bake in the oven on the middle shelf for 20 minutes or until the desired colour is achieved.
  8. Leave to cool on a wire rack.
  9. Serve with tea or coffee, or use in baking, e.g. for cake bases.
