Apple compote & apple sauce

Easy to make and very tasty with many side dishes.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Peel and core the apples and cut each into 8 slices.
  2. In a saucepan, simmer the apple slices with a little water (~200 mL), 4-6 cloves, a piece of lemon zest and a cinnamon stick over a medium to high heat.
  3. As soon as the apples have cooked (approx. 20 minutes), remove the cloves, lemon peel and cinnamon stick and serve warm.

Applesauce is made in the same way, but the whole thing is then pureed. Remove the spices before pureeing, of course.
