Introit
Is 59:21; 56:7
Dicit Dóminus: Sermónes mei, quos dedi in os tuum, non defícient de ore tuo: et múnera tua accépta erunt super altáre meum.
The Lord says, My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth; and your gifts shall be accepted upon My altar.
Ps 111:1
Beátus vir, qui timet Dóminum: in mandátis ejus cupit nimis.
Happy the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in His commands.
Collect
Deus, qui nos ánnua beáti Cleméntis Mártyris tui atque Pontíficis sollemnitáte lætíficas: concéde propítius; ut, cujus natalítia cólimus, virtútem quoque passiónis imitémur.
O God, Who dost gladden us by the yearly Feast-day of thine holy Martyr, Clement mercifully grant unto us who keep their birthday, the strength to imitate their patience under suffering.
Epistle
Léctio Epístolæ beáti Pauli Apóstoli ad Philippénses
Lesson from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Philippians
Phil 3:17-21; 4:1-3
Brethren: Be imitators of me, and mark those who walk after the pattern you have in us. For many walk, of whom I have told you often and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the Cross of Christ. Their end is ruin, their god is the belly, their glory is in their shame, they mind the things of earth. But our citizenship is in heaven from which also we eagerly await a Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who will refashion the body of our lowliness, conforming it to the body of His glory by exerting the power by which He is able also to subject all things to Himself. So then, my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and my crown, stand fast thus in the Lord, beloved. I entreat Evodia and I exhort Syntyche to be of one mind in the Lord. And I beseech you also, my loyal comrade, help them, for they have toiled with me in the gospel, as have Clement and the rest of my fellow-workers whose names are in the book of life.
Secret
Múnera tibi, Dómine, obláta sanctífica: et, intercedénte beáto Cleménte Mártyre tuo atque Pontífice, per hæc nos a peccatórum nostrórum máculis emúnda.
Having offered You our gifts, we beseech You, O Lord, mercifully to enlighten Your Church, so that Your flock may everywhere prosper, and its shepherds, under Your guidance, be rendered acceptable to You.
Postcommunion
Since Your Church has been nourished by sacred food, govern her in Your clemency, we beseech You, O Lord, so that under the guidance of Your almighty rule, she may enjoy ever greater freedom and remain steadfast in purity of faith.
