Sauce ☀️

Tomato chutney

Ideal with pchicken momo or vegetable momo or other filled Asian noodles such as gyoza.

Ingredients

Thai chillis

Tomatoes, roughly chopped
100 mL
Water

Garlic cloves
2 cm
Ginger
1/2 bunch
Coriander, fresh
2 tbsp
Soya Sauce
1 tbsp
White wine vinegar
1 tbsp
Sugar, brown
Salt

Instructions

  1. Roughly chop the chillies and tomatoes and place in an acid-proof pan with water and simmer.
  2. Peel and add the garlic.
  3. Peel the ginger and grate finely (e.g. using a microplane). Add.
  4. Wash and roughly chop the coriander and add.
  5. Add the soya sauce, vinegar and sugar.
  6. When the tomatoes and chilli have cooked down a little, i.e. the tomatoes are completely soft, puree the whole thing.
  7. If it is too watery, reduce on a high heat.
  8. Flavour with salt.
  9. Transfer to a bowl and leave to cool.
  10. Serve with chicken momo or vegetable momo.
