Mushroom cream sauce

If you need a good sauce for bread dumplings or spätzle.

Portions:

2 portions as a main course

Ingredients

Onion
500 g
Mushrooms, champignons or similar
2
Tomatoes
1 tbsp
Thyme, fresh
1 tbsp
Oregano, dried
25 g
Butter
150 mL
Cream

Instructions

  1. Cut the onions into half rings and sauté in a pan with butter.
  2. Slice the mushrooms and add to the onions. Add more butter if necessary. Cook until the mushrooms are slightly caramelised.
  3. Roughly chop the tomatoes into 2 cm pieces and add to the pan.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, thyme and oregano.
  5. Reduce the heat 5 minutes before serving and add the cream. Allow to boil down.
  6. Serve with your choice of starch. Particularly suitable are bread dumpings.
