A plenary indulgence is granted to the faithful who devoutly recite these prayers after Holy Communion. The usual conditions apply: sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father, and detachment from all sin, even venial.

Ánima Christi

Ánima Christi, santífica me. Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Corpus Christi, salva me. Body of Christ, save me. Sanguis Christi, inébria me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Aqua láteris Christi, lava me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Pássio Christi, confórta me. Passion of Christ, strenghten me. O bone Iesu, exáudi me. O good Jesus, hear me. Intra tua vúlnera abscónde me. Within Thy wounds hide me. Ne permíttas me separári a te. Separated from Thee let me never be. Ab hoste malígno defénde me. From the malignant enemeny, defend me. In hora mortis meæ voca me. Pater noster, qui es in cælis Our Father, Who art in heaven, Sanctificétur nomen tuum hallowed be Thy name; Advéniat regnum tuum Thy kingdom come; Fiat volúntas tua, sicut in cælo, et in terra. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Panem nostrum quotidiánum da nobis hódie. Give us this day our daily bread; Et dimítte nobis debíta nostra, and forgive us our trespasses, sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris. as we forgive those who trespass against us; Et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem. and lead us not into temptation, Sed líbera nos a malo. Ave María, grátia plena. Dóminus tecum, Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. benedícta tu in muliéribus, Blessed art thou amongst women, et benedíctus fructus ventris tui, Jesus. and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Sancta María, mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatóribus, Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, nunc, et in hora mortis nostræ. Amen. now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
