The universe is intelligible to mind

The claim

Mathematics describes physical reality with uncanny precision. Pure thought, done in advance, predicts what the experiment will find.

Wigner called this 'unreasonable.' On naturalism it is. On theism it is exactly what you'd expect: a Mind made the world, and made minds to know it. The match between intellect and cosmos is a match because they share an author.

Logos before logic.

John's gospel begins with the Word — the divine Logos — through whom all things were made. Christian metaphysics has always said: the world is meaningful because it was spoken.

Modern science is the exploitation of the world's logos-character, by minds that share in the same logos. To use this gift while denying it is incoherent.

When we read the universe, we are reading after Someone.
